Question:
How will you dress when you are 60?
I was thinking about this the other day and I feel that no matter how old you are you should never sacrifice style for those awful orthopaedic shoes and pleated tartan skirts! To be honest I don't think that 'our generation' or even my mum's generation (she's 53) will succumb to that!
I wanna be a stylish mum & granny but definately not 'mutton dressed as lamb'. I would adapt the more 'mature' aspects of the current fashion into my style but stick to wearing classic items that suit my colouring and shape.
For example, if I was 60 right now, a typical outfit for me would be wide leg trousers in grey with a fitted white shirt, a neck scarf and red pointy shoes (for a bit of 'sass' ;) ) And a nice fitted black mac. :) Hey I'd probably wear that now, only with more chunky accessories!
Or even a gorgeous wrap dress in flattering colours over jeans (which I also wear now)!
I would stay well clear of leopard print and anything 60's. However I'd invest in a few dog tooth pieces (the smaller print though!...maybe a fitted coat/jacket (like the DP one) as it is a classic print and I think it looks good on older, more stylish women :D
How will you dress?? ;)
The things you think of Ylang  What are you like!
I don't like leopard print on old women but I see it loads where I live (near Marbella). I'll never get over the day I spotted a woman who must have been at least 70 wearing a leopard print catsuit with matching stilletos at nine in the morning!
God knows what I'll be wearing in thirty years, a funky space suit for my hols hopefully. I definitely want a blue rinse though:lol:

I know I do think of the strangest things don't I? :D
I was talking about this the other day!
I was saying i'm going to turn all eccentric and start wearing random weird hats
;)
All old people dress the same anyway don't they? Lots of beige and 3 jumpers even when its about 90 degrees. And those sensible clarks shoes with american tan wrinkly tights.
Pretty much like you i hope Ylang!
Bootcut jeans (if i still have the figure and can get away with them), Wide leg trousers, wrap dresses, fitted shirts, loose fine knit jumpers but sass it up with plenty of accessories.
I would wear leopard print but only on a neckscarf or some shoes that could just be seen poking out of my wide leg trews.
My mum is 49 and already thinks she's too old for fashion  and hence is slowly starting to dress a bit grannified.
My nan is pretty much the same although since my grandad died she's starting buying more clothes and making an effort - probably because he isn't around to moan about her spending money
