Question:
help please from all you fashionistas!!
Right, you seem to know fashion inside out, so I hope you can help me!
Im going on a one night trip away with my husband on a work thing.
On the first evening its dinner in the hotel where we are staying, (a trendy 4* place) and Ive never stayed anywhere as nice before so havent a clue what to wear, then a music night in the pub after.
I don’t want to look too ‘done up’, but not too casual either.
Now, the day after ends with a posho champagne reception at the races. It says “Smart Casual, unless you fancy entering the best dressed lady competition. Please bring a waterproof”….
Now you see why I am more than confused! Bearing in mind that this is rainy Ireland we’re talking about, I was thinking about smart trousers, with a silky pussybow blouse, heels and clutch bag? Ive never been yo the races before so does this sound ok? I really don’t want to look like out of place, so please be honest!!
thanks so much in advance xx
I love days at the races! I always want to use it as an excuse for a nice dress, but the last time I went the weather was awful, so I ended up in smart trousers and little chiffony top, so I think your outfit idea sounds fine.
For the evening before, I'm going to be predictable and suggestion a wrap dress.
For the races taht sounds fantastuic, but be careful of heels as sometimes you will have to stand on/ walk across grass so you don't want to get stuck. For the evening before, is it very modern cosmopolitan place, or a more country fires and cosy feel? X
I was watching the York races t'other day and the 'best dressed woman' won a two week holiday to Dubai!!
Well worth a posh frock I reckon.........
Shoos. xx
The outfit sounds great - just one thought - can you wear a nice pair of wedges instead of the heels? They won't get stuck in the wet ground as much as heels / sitlletoes!! :)
