Question:
How much do boots cost nowadays?
I have an old faithful pair of brown boots that I bought for £50 a few years ago, but they've finally fallen apart and I need a new pair. But when I went shopping I was shocked at the prices. Decent knee-high boots seem to cost between £85 (at Barratts) and £125 (at Debenhams). Is this how much you would expect to pay for a pair of boots nowadays? I can't help feeling like I'm being ripped off.
PS Has anyone seen a nice pair of flat dark brown boots for a reasonable price? Something that would go with both jeans and skirts? Kitten heels wear too fast, so really I want a proper flat pair.
Hi Kathkin
Go to TK Maxx
I recently bought some black pointy Gerry Webber boots for £30 and some Oasis pointy tan boots for £50 RRP was £80.
They have a wide range of boots at reasonable prices.

I'd expect to pay a minimum of £70 for a decent pair of leather knee high boots, unless I got them from Primark, TKMaxx or in the sales. Generally around £90-100 seems to be about average.
Non-pixie flat brown boots seem to be a bit of a rarity these days, but I think I saw some in Faith last time I was in.

Pri mark have a pretty damm good range of boots for bargainous prices.
I recently purchased an extremly comfortable pair of grey suede flat slouch boots which i'm sure they do in brown at £12, yes that's £12 :yay: :yay: :yay:

I paid £75 for some leather boots from barretts the other day. I know what your saying when it seems alot to pay but I know I will probably wear these boots to death so I will get my money out of them!!
If you don't want to pay that much what about trying NL or primark? They have some good boots that aren't too expensive
