ebay dilemna
Question:

ebay dilemna
I've just won a purple winter's coat (which I admittedly only half liked) but have now just noticed that they don't accept paypal.... I currently don't have any cheques right now and postal orders don't sit right with me as I like the security of pay pal. They say they will leave negative feedback if you can not pay by those methods. Should I email the seller and own up to my mistake (I thought I saw a pay pal icon but evidently not) and risk the neg? Or take a gamble with a postal order (which I really do not want to do) :( Ach. Feel so annoyed at myself now.

Answers:

just send a postal order-they are very secure!!!

what's their feedback like? since they did state their accepted payment methods you do have to go through with the transaction, i'd be more surprised if they didn't neg you. are you waiting for a cheque book or will you not have any in the foreseeable future? you might be able to convince them to wait for your cheque book to arrive. or could you ask someone else to write a cheque for you?

Answers:

I'm waiting for one to arrive- but this will take some forseeable time as I'm in Jersey. They have positive feedback, but on the other hand, they have only sold three items and one is no longer registered as a user- as I have only been using eBay for a few months now, I'm not too certain on what to make of that.
Lomie - if for example the item was never sent would I receive a refund via the postal order (the item was under £15 which as far as I am aware, eBay will not do refunds unless over £15 as they take a small fee to process them).

Answers:

I'd email the seller if I were you and own up. You can just tell them your concerns and apologise for the delay. They can't really give you a negative feedback if you pay, maybe just neutral for waiting before you cntacted them?
Honesty is usually the best policy on Ebay to avoid complications
