Question:
Charity Shops!
Just wondered how many of you look in chairty shops for items or accsessories to add to your wardrobe?
After looking on some stylediarys it seems that a few do, if you do - How often do you find something you like?
I think with charity shops you have to have a really good eye. My mother in law finds lovely things in charity shops especially vintage bags. I am no good at it,I don't know where to start. Also I worry that the clothes might have some sinister history:lol:
I buy stuff from charity shops. In my youth I was a rock chick (and this was the late 80's/early 90's so the high street did not cater for rockers) so a good 50% of my wardrobe came from charity shops and flea markets. The charity shop habit has stuck (along with a bit of ebaying). We have several great charity shops where I live so I have a charity shop afternoon about once a month. I don't always get something, maybe every other visit on average, but I have found some real gems/bargains over the years.
Hi Katy
I love Charity shops, But of late I have not seen anything to excite me. I don't know if I am getting more fussy or the choice is less good. Anyway it's good to keep looking. I did get a wide belt with gold detail a while ago. Regards Caroline.x.
I tend to pop in one if I'm passing, but have found v.few things over the past few months that I've liked or would fit me (found a great pair of Gap leather jeans last week for £9 but they were a size too big) or that would go with my style (found an immaculate 50s style small structured leather bag, not regular leather, it looked suspiciously reptillian, for £8 but I'm broke and would have no use for it!)
That said I did pick up a nice linen shirt which is a nice plain classic, and a bonkers pleated skirt in a metallic fabric that looks like molten mercury, that still had the original labels, not long before that (not sure when I'll wear it but was too good to turn down!)
