Question:
Cheap suit that doesn't LOOK cheap...
Well, the title says it all really.
I have a nice Jigsaw one but it's now just too big round the waist.
Was wondering who has the best offering out of Zara, Top Shop, M and S, Next etc.
I can't stand suits and am purchasing it purely for an interview - and also in the anticipation there will hopefully be more interviews to come!
Has anyone seen anything nice?
thanks
PB
how cheap are we talking? I have seen some cheap but not cheap looking suits in George (ASDA).
For suits on a budget I really don't think you can beat Zara or Mango. They are stylish - not your boring usual stuff and they're well made.
This truly an eternal dilemma!
I have one from NL and one from DP but I must admit they look very budget. Funnily enough, as a sports writer I have to end up in smart wear all the time (there's nothing worse than dressing up for a football match) and I always avoid wearing my suits as they're so cheap.
I don't usually have more than £60 to spare for a suit but I will check out Zara.
OT but sometimes cheap suits can work for you. I was sat with some seriously big chiefs of big sports companies with the advertising girls. One bloke and I went to the bar and he saw my suit jacket had become a bit thread bare. A moment ago, he'd been discussing childcare costs and had mentioned it costs him £700 a month for his young boy. He mentioned I needed a pair of scissors for the jacket and I told him I'd rather not risk it as I earn what his kid costs him every month.
A bit convoluted but the embarassment forced my boss into giving me a rise. I should imagine.

Oh Hack poor you. A bit tactless of him esp if he didn't even know you that well. Still at least the story had a happy ending!
I think I'll try Zara then.
We don't really have an Asda anywhere near us otherwise I probably would have checked it out.
