bra sizes wtf?
Question:

bra sizes wtf?
I need to buy new bras and am a bit unstuck as to what size I am- all current ones are 34DD and are now too big around the underband (having to tighten up straps and it's half way up my shoulders :o ) and the cups are 'overflowing'
Just used the measuring table on La Senza's site and according to that I'm a 36AA
Anyone know of a reliable measuring method/ table on net or can suggest the best place to get measured in a shop?- I guess I'll have to drag my lazy arse into town

All I know is that the main support is supposed to come from the strap that goes around your back. If it's loose riding up your back it means it's too big for you so definitely don't go up to a 36. You would be better going down to a 32 and maybe try a D cup in that.
I think you need to get yourself professionally measured because those charts always come up with bizarre sizes for me.
ETA- just re-read the overflowing cups bit, maybe don't go down to a D:lol:

I know I should go into town but knowing my luck the measurer will be either an ex pupil or a parent of a currentpupil- don't wanna get my boulder holder out in front of either! :o
Any suggestions for which shops to try M&S, Debenhams?

i always use this method - Measure directly under your bust in inches, add 4 inches to an even number or 5 inches to an odd number. (so if you got 31 from the measuring tape you would be a 36)
then measure around your bust, if the measurement is the same as the total of the first measureent your an A cup, if its an extra inch then its a B cup, 2 extra inches is a C cup and so on.
hope that all makes sense.
eta - M&S is quite good, when i went to debenhams they didnt measure me, they just got loads of bras for me to try on till i got one which i found comfortable!

Ok under 29" and around 37.5" so that makes me...34D/34DD  - runs off to get measured as head is about to implode
