Question:
Cheap clothes to go to uni
 Hi Ladies
I don’t usually post in fashion although I do lurk. I will be starting a degree in September and I’m looking for some help about what to wear.
I’m taking a career break to study, my last job was a management level civil service post so I wore a suit everyday. I don’t really have casual clothes anymore :o as I tend to buy things I could wear to work or going out clothes.
I am losing weight at the moment :yescales: and I’m obviously skint so I was hoping someone can help.
I really need to get a new pair of jeans my others are getting a bit too baggy I’d like to get a few casual tops too. I really only have around £50 to spend
I’m a dressmaker/designer so I was thinking of buying some cheap tops from Asda or Tesco and customising them into something a little bit less plain. I’ve got loads of crafty bits I could use for it.
What do you fashion ladies think. Where’s the best place for me to look for bargain clothes I’m size 14/16 BTW
Primark :)
Agree, definitley Primark, hardly anything is over like £15 and most stuff is lower :yay:
Thanks
I cant stand going in there the shop is so untidy they do have good bargains though so I may have to face my fears.
Hi blue dragon :)
I'd say your best bet would be Primark. You could get quite a bit for your £50. They have got loads of cheap and plain long length tee's and things that you could probably customize and funk up a bit (God, I wish I could make my own clothes. I've got the ideas but just cant use a sewing machine! lol). Also, for autumn and winter they usually get some cheap and cheerful jumpers in, but I don't think they are in store just yet. I bought a few plain crew and v neck jumpers last year and they washed well :) You can also get a wide range of accessories to mix and match with your outfits. I would suggest that you go to a larger branch though. If you live around the london area, your options would be Hammersmith, Kingston, Watford and possibly Harrow
However, when it comes to jeans, and if you are a size 14/16, then Primark's jeans may be a problem. I'm a size 14 and their jeans just dont fit very well. You could give em a go...after all they are only £12 at the most! For me, Peacocks jeans fit well, and they are only about £15. Or you could give New Look a try. Their jeans are priced between £15-£25.
Or you could go to Tesco/Asda aswell. I saw lots of lovely things in Asda the other day that were quite cheap.
Sorry if I went on a bit  Hope this helps :)
