(Somewhat) OT: Watersports gear in the Lakes?
Question:

(Somewhat) OT: Watersports gear in the Lakes?
  Hello everyone
I feel a bit of a weeble asking this question :o but I was wondering whether anyone could tell me what people generally tend to wear when doing watersports in the Lake District - does your usual range of beach swimming getup cut it (one-piece/two-piece/terrycloth jumpsuit ;)) or do people tend to pretty much stick to sportier gear (e.g. shunning string bikinis and the like)?
Weeble out :o

What sort of watersports? Do you mean like canoeing, water-skiing and stuff? White water rafting? Diving?
I'm not really into watersports (or any sports, actually  ) BUT I do live near the lake district, and I can tell you I've never seen anyone in a string bikini round here! I think you'd be best off with a sporty one-piece swimsuit, something like this :)
Which part are you going to? Remember your insect repellent if you're going anywhere near Lake Windermere, I got bitten by hundreds of the little buggers (mosquitoes or whatever they are) a couple of years ago!

Thanks very much GlitterJunkie :) I was specifically thinking of kayaking/canoeing/sailing, and thought as much, but also thought I'd check anyway just to make sure (and it's just as well because all I have really is a sporty one-piece ;))
We're heading to near Lake Windermere but will also be wandering around, and thank you v. much for the tip about the insect repellent!
