Do you keep your classics/essentials to a bare minimum?
Question:

Do you keep your classics/essentials to a bare minimum?
Question might not be too clear so i'll try and explain :cmdunno:
I bought 3 pairs of the sass and bide jeans when they were on offer - a black, grey and indigo pair. As space is a bit of an issue at the moment i'm wondering whether to ebay my cheaper grey primark skinnies (2 pairs) which aren't as great a fit.
Do you keep your essentials to a bare minimum such as one pair of each colour jean or just keep buying lots of different pairs of the same colour/fit iyswim?

I don';t tend to have the classic wardrobe staples such as a white shirt/smart skirt/jacket etc... but have a mishmash of eclectic stuff that I love to death that suits my style.
If I do find something I fall in love with, which is mostly everything as I'm quite fussy with my stuff and only buy what I adore, I'll buy 2 or more of them as I wear stuff until it falls apart.

I tend to think it's a great idea to have tons of basics, but in reality I never find time to wear them and end up wearing the better few and ignoring the rest! I'd maybe keep one of the cheaper pairs for slumming it and ebay the rest. Unless you still get a lot of wear out of them!

I have tons of basics :o especially winter ones which I live in. When I find a style or piece that I like I tend to buy it in other colours or stock up on it. Point in case, I have 9 (!) longline jumpers which are pretty much all the same style, about 2 dozen white vests, numerous skinny jeans, 4 pairs of French Sole ballet flats, about a dozen pashminas, tons of longline summer tops etc etc. You get the idea! :o :D
ETA: ought to say though, my style doesn't really change taht much from year to year so I do wear all of it. In fact, there's nothing worse than when an old favourite wears out and you can't replace it because you can't find it anywhere!

I have a bit of a thing for white shirts so have plenty of those and I do get lots of wear out of them. And I'm the same with white vest tops.
But other classics, I tend to just have one of at a time and I would generally rather buy more interesting things so I tend to have one pair of black trousers, one black skirt, one beige skirt etc and when they wear out, I buy something similar as a replacement. I only wear these things for days when I have to be smart at work so begrudge buying them.
With jeans, I have lots of pairs but they are all different i..e I have one pair of skinny jeans in each colour. As I can't wear jeans to work now, I can't really justify having more than one pair of each style as I just don't get to wear them that often.
