Does anyone else...
Question:

Does anyone else...
...get really bad fits of guilt when buying things?
Im just about to order a big pile of stuff, (2 boyfriend jumpers, a longline cardie, a hooded wrap, and a bra and knickers set) and feel really very guilty about it. Especially as in a few weeks (before going back to uni) I will also hopefully be getting a new pair of mooches, a new bag, new scarf and some new brown boots.
I dont know, maybe Id feel less bad if I was working for my money, or if I had more spare...

Answers:

Yes, I do...
Although usually I'll buy one thing here, another thing there and then it's at the end of the month when I have a 'where did all the money go?' moment that it dawns on me...
Your purchases don't sound particularly frivolous though - just stocking up for winter!

Absolutely. :o

I feel super guilty at the moment because I'm skint, I had to have my car MOT'd which cost almost £200, I have to buy a dining table and chairs, yet still I didn't have the willpower not to buy things when I was in town yesterday (see WDYBTW thread).
I can't be trusted to go near the shops without supervision
I've also done something this week I swore I wouldn't; I've snuck things into the flat and hidden them in my wardrobe so my boyfriend wouldn't question me :o It's not like he'd go mad, he knows I love shopping, but he occasionally comments when I say I'm too broke to go out but am wearing a new top and new shoes both acquired that week. I probably feel more guilty about that than anything else, I might have to 'fess up tonight...

I do sometimes, especially at the moment as my husband is being really careful with money in preparation for 'when baby arrives.'
Neither of us are particularly extravagant anyway but he only really buys clothes when he needs them or changes his style. He isn't frivolous. Then again there are more frivolous things available to girls -jewellery, scarves etc...and I'm a magpie when it comes to that kind of thing. It does make me feel guilty when we go shopping and I'll buy some earrings, a couple of tops and some make up and he'll just buy a book!
