"Try to have shoes with a strap and keep the heel height down to 4cm (1.5in)," he said.
He said he was not advising that women should stop wearing high heels altogether, but advocating wearing them in moderation.
"There can be serious consequences, but we are not trying to ban them," he said.
My neighbour crashed her car wearing flip flops so flatties can be a danger too!
But I will agree with his last point - 'Alcohol and heels are a bad mix' been there, done that. :head:
I've got some fab sandals, 4inch heels & wrap-around-the-ankle-a-few-times straps & they kill me! I ended up with a deep cut in my ankle last time I wore them, it was worse than a blister and it took over a month to heal:(
Bet i'd still wear them again tho:o
I don't know if this really counts as a shoe related injury, but I was wearing leopard print stilletos with a 3" heel and had been dancing all night. When we left I got a piggy back from my husband as I couldn't walk in my shoes and he ended up dropping me onto the road! I ended up with a black eye and a cut above my eyebrow which took a bit of explaining when I went to work the next day.
Sorry, but anyone who tries to drives in flippies is an idiot!
