dye it or cut my loses?
  I have a black linen mix skirt which I bought earlier this summer, but its faded a lot in the wash. Is it possible to dye it to stop it looking so grey, or should I just cut my loses?
It wasn't an expensive one, but I'm on a real budget at the moment, and its been a staple in my summer wardrobe




You said the skirt was a linen mix, what's the other fibre in it? If it's synthetic it won't take the dye very well. If it's a natural fibre it will dye fine :)




I'm not sure how well linen dyes. If you pick up a Dylon leaflet from Woolies or a haberdashers it'll tell you which dyes you can and can't use on different fabrics. If you can find a suitable dye, then I reckon it will be worth it for reviving your skirt if you wear it lots. I mean, for the price of the dye you won't find another skirt.




Well if you're only going to throw it out then I'd give dying a go as you've got nothing to lose really. Although it was cheap, if it's been a staple in your summer wardrobe then I'd try & rescue it at least! ;)
