Question:

DVF owners
Any of you ladies tried washing the dresses? It says Dry Clean Only on the label but that's pretty impractical for a summer dress that I happen to love and wear a fair bit. The label says it's 100% silk but NAP say it's rayon

Answers:

silk might be ok to wash but you shouldn't wash the rayon ones, apparently they go crusty

I once thought about it, because I really can't see why not, but someone on MUA said she washed hers and it changed the texture of the material and lasted even when it had been ironed.
Of course I can't recall whether her dress was rayon or silk so that's not much use really is it?!
Oh just noticed Annanas's post!

Yup, I vaguely remember the crusty thing hence the question  I was quite surprised to see 100% silk on the label seeing as it's the usual DVF jersey type fabric although I don't think it feels exactly like their rayon dresses.

I was going to post a thread like this, because I've got one that's a few years old now and dry cleaning doesn't seem to get it fresh enough now. It's silk jersey. I might try washing it in cold water with cashmere wash. I can imagine the rayon ones going funny actually - I spilt a bit of wine on one and it went all crinkly.
