Question:
It's official. There are no dresses for me!
Well, after having followed wise baggers' advice I happily skipped along to Zara on Oxford St to look for a dress. Nothing. Honestly nothing at all suited me. I tried on a floatly green and white dress which tbh looked like a tent on me (even though it was a medium and it barely went over my hips). I also tried on things which I wouldn't normally go for. All were awful.
So, not defeated, I went up to TopShop. I tried on soooooo many dresses in the vintage section downstairs. The "prom" style dress suits me however, the ones I tried on I was so gaping at the top it was scary! I am a 34B but I would have needed to be at least a 34ZZ to fit in.
I didn't think I was so disproportionate but it would seem I am. (5ft 4", 10 top, 12 bottom) So, I shall go to my friend's wedding in my England strip instead!! ;)

Did you try Coast? I am similar proportions (though not the same size sadly!) and their stuff always fits me really well.
I'm sure you'll fab in your England kit though :lol:
Lizzydee, I sooo understand what you mean!! Recently I went shopping in Amsterdam with 2 friends, hunting for a nice summerdress. I tried on loads in Zara, H&M, Vera Moda and several other small shops. Nothing fitted or looked flattering on me!!
I am 5.5", about a size 12-14 with 34 D bust, so not very slender but not really big either.
I did get a very nice dotted wrap-over dress in H&M some time ago, but now I was on the hunt for a nice floatey, summery dress.
All the dresses that I tried on either were a really weird shape on me, made me look frumpy or just did not fit (even in the correct size). I was soo dissapointed! :mad:
Am I finally prepared to part with my money (I am a bit of a scrooge...:o ), is there nothing that suits me!
Unfortunately, we do not have all the shops in Holland that are mentioned on here that are supposed to have lovely dresses in...
Well, let the quest continue...

Exactly the same here! (well nearly, I am an 8 top and 10 bottom, but the same height and boob size as you!) and I find it a nightmare to find dresses that fit me :mad: It's with being a different size on the top and bottom, I think. No advice, just wanted to sympathise with another dressless person :lol: :hug:
Oh actually, I think I might have some advice - try Monsoon! I've only ever tried 1 dress on in there, but it was a perfect fit (sadly couldn't afford it at the time, but it was lovely!)
Have you tried on any of the prom style dresses in Warehouse? I'm about the same size as you and bought one from here a few months ago for a wedding & it is the most flattering fitting item of clothing I've ever owned.
