Question:
help type thing please!
Another person needing help!
i need to get a better skincare rountine and possibly some new stuff.
I have fairly normal, clear skin.I can get a wee oil nose and teeny oily forehead.Recently i have been getting spots on my chin but im pretty sure these are hormonal.I normally just wash my face with shower gel, moisturise with body lotion and i sleep in my make up:o .I very strict with other beauty stuff but cause ive always had good skin i just became lazy.
My skin now is very tight feeling, and slightly rough. As soon as i come out the shower i have to put some moisture type thing on it cause it becomes uncomfortably tight.
I also notice that my nose is quite dry, even though it can get oily?
Im looking for a new skincare regime.I dont like cream cleansers,i prefer a wash off type and im not into toners.Just something gentle and moisturising and perferably to get rid of the dry/oiley weird nose thing!
Im not on a budget so much, although i dont think i need to spend a fortune cause i have young skin that dosnt need all the alphawhatevers and also im taking a career break soon so dont want to be spending a fortune.I dont mind getting a good moistursier and cleanser
if anybody could help,i might let you bum me into next week.
Thank you please:)
It sounds as though your skin is dehydrated and possibley a bit sensitive too. The Body Shop have some great ranges available and aren't ridiculously priced. Staff their should be able to recommend you something suitable.

Hi Fefe
It sounds as though your dry/oily/tight skin is quite unbalanced I think it is to do with washing your face with shower gel. If you look on the back of your shower gel on the ingredients list it will most likely have Sodium Laurel Sulphates (SLS), which is a common detergent used in most shower gels, hand washes and shampoos. I think what has been happening is that this detergent in your shower gel has been overstripping your skin of your natural oils which keep the skin at a normal moisture balance and so your oil glands in your face, and on your nose as you mentioned, have been over compensating the lack of moisture (stripped by the shower gel) and have been producing more oil. This leaves you with the oily bits, but its your skin trying to tell you it is being stripped too harshly.
So I'd stop with the shower gel and get something less harsh, I would use a cream cleanser if I were you to help put moisture back in, even though you are not a fan. Beware of a foaming facial cleanser as this too usually contains SLS.
Have a look at Neal's Yard http://www.nealsyardremedies.com/ they have great gentle products.
you need to use a face moisturiser for the face and eye gel for under the eye and under the eyebrow. You dont neccesarily need cleanser, you can just use a deep cleansing facial wash, form time to time you can use almond/coconut or olive oil then wash of with a hot flannel.
maybe check for a few tips?
