Worst beauty advice you've been given?

Although, my mum was told to put lemon juice on her freckles to make them disappear :lol :lol:
Oh, that's reminded me of one: I was told rinsing in vinegar would make my hair shiny.
It didn't. I just stank like a fish shop for the next couple of hours until I couldn't put up with it any longer and re-washed my hair!!
Using toothpaste as a face mask, I still have the scars :head:
Not necessarily beauty advice, but the worst product that was recommended to me (by a professional in the beauty trade might I add) was Dermalogica Special Cleansing Gel. It dried my skin out so badly it took weeks to sort out the flaky mess. :head:

I was told that one too! It was supposedly good for spots but it literally burnt the top layer of skin off my face! :eek: I don't have scars thank god but the redness was there for aaaaaages. :cmdunno:
Another one I was told was to get rid of blackheads by digging them out with a needle or sharp pair of nail scissors! :cmeek: Thankfully I used my common sense on that one & decided against it but my Auntie was also told it when she was young & had terrible open pores on her nose. :head:
I can't think of anymore atm but I'm sure I will once I've had a little think!
