Skin crisis - hole in cheek (literally!)
Question:

Skin crisis - hole in cheek (literally!)
  Hello Dear Baggers,
I've never actually posted my own threat before, but this is urgent, and I'm scared I'll end up scarred....
Ok, my skin history is that I used to get spots after my puberty, and over the last five years I was on Dianette, and had no problems. Last year I switched to Mirogynon (sp?) and in December, spots re-appeared.
The problem is that while my skin has overall cleared up by now, I had this one nasty huge spot for about a week and a half on my cheek that I successfully ignored, until it got progressively worse over the weekend.
I knew it's the kind you can't squeeze, but it had gotten a bit painful/throbbing whenever I moved my jaw, so I set about doing the inevitable to relief my discomfort.
I covered my fingertips with tissue, squeezed until I nearly passed out, and nothing really came out (too deep). I disinfected with TCP, just in case, and put Savlon on.
Of course, this morning I looked bruised (nothing a little make-up can't cover), and because I had washed my face and had therefore re-opened the wound a little, I put TCP on it again (and a little Savlon to work away under the make-up).
I just went to the loo to see how noticeable it was when I realised that the skin looked pretty lose around where the spot had been (the spot itself actually decreased over night). Of course, stupid me probed a bit and a patch of skin came off!!!!!
There is more lose skin I haven't touched, but overall, it looks like I'll lose the top layer of my skin where that blasted spot (and TCP)has been...and the size of that area is about the size of a £1 coin!!!!!!
Scream!!!!
TCP can be used on skin, so why this? I actually have a slight burning sensation on my cheek, had last night, and again this morning.

Words cannot begin to explain my despair, WTF AM I SUPPOSED TO DO?????
If only I hadn't touched that blasted spot!:boohoo:
I could cry, I have a hole in my cheek!!!!
Can anyone make any suggestion as to what I could possibly do now in terms of damage control? (apart from chopping my hands off to never squeeze again)
Thanks in advance!

Hi JDesiree, just wanted to say dont panic, i can only suggest let nature takes it course and let it heal, maybe someone else may have a better idea, but the more you touch and squeeze the worse its going to get, maybe bathe it in a some warm weak salt water a couple of times a day, but dont put any TCP on that stuff is strong,
hope you feeling better soon
Pacha x

oh no i feel for you! I currently have two huge cyst things on my chin that hurt when i move my jaw
Try some sudocrem on it, that should stop the burning - rinse the TCP off, taht wont be helping
when you get home, put a huge blob of sudocrem on
Hope it heals soon.

Gosh you poor thing.
Like others have said you need to antiseptic to stop it getting infected. The only other suggestion I have is using something like rosehip oil to help prevent scarring - not until after it's healed up though.
With regards pills, I don't have acne but Microgynon made my skin really greasy. I'm on Cilest now which is a more oestrogen-dominant pill and has been much better for me.

Thanks for the suggestions, Ladies.
I hate spots, they should not be allowed for anyone past 20....
