make up brushes
Question:

make up brushes

Is it best to buy individual ones or to buy sets that available on ebay?
I want some good quality (not necessairly the most expensive) brushes - looking for a set of about 12 - ebay seems a minefield - lots of bargains from China/Hong Kong - any good?
Any one bought a set of good make up brushes that do a great job & recommend me?thanks

I prefer to buy them individually as I don't think you reallly need an entire set. If you've got a good eyeshadow, powder and or blush, maybe a bronzer, and an eye contour brush that's pretty good to start with. if you use liquid foundation a foundation brush is a good investment too.
I wouldn't want to encourage you to spend boat loads of money but I prefer ones that are natural bristles from some of the high end cosmetic companies. Although not all have good quality.
You need to check brushes for shedding and harsh bristles.

I really don't like natural bristles but I am incredibly precious about quality so at the moment the only brushes I will buy are TBS. Though if anyone knows of a synthetic kabuki brush that doesn't scratch your face off lemme know :D

I buy individually & most of my brushes are from different brands like Prescriptives, MAC, Chanel & Ruby & Millie. I agree that most sets will have at least one redundant brush.

Does it have to be all synthetic? Have you tried any of the MAC Skunks? They're partially synthetic.
ETA: I know they're not a Kabuki, but they give a lovely finish with powder.
