Question:
Choosing the right shade of blusher
Is it true that you should choose a blusher shade according to whether you have a cool or warm skintone?
For example, I imagine a warm skintone would suit a peachy shade better and a cool skintone would lean more towards a pink colour.
I'm one of these people who can't really figure out whether I am 'cool' or 'warm' but when it comes to blusher I tend to lean more towards pinks as I don't feel that peachy colours suit me.
I always think that pink blushers look more natural as when people naturally flush they tend to go a pinky red colour. I don't think I've ever seen anybody with a natural peachy orange flush to their skin. :cmdunno:
Just wondering whether there is a foolproof way for choosing the correct blusher shade for your skin. Should I be buying it according to whether I am 'cool' or 'warm' or should I just choose the shade based on my own personal preference (screw what the make-up experts say!). Or, should I buy a shade that closely matches the colour my cheeks go when they are flushed?
ETA: Have just read a few articles on other sites that say you should match your blusher to your lipstick colour and another site suggests that you should wear pink tones in the winter and peach shades in the summer. I'm more confused now.
How do you choose your blusher colour?
Yes, I often wonder all this about blusher as well. Quite confusing isn't it??
I'm very pale, but find i go more for the peachy ones in the summer & the pinky ones in the winter. God knows whether this is right or not, hehe!!
If anyone asks for blusher at work I get called over. I am the QUEEN of blusher :D
I have hazel eyes, dark auburn hair and freckles. BUT I have a cool skin tone with a lot of pink in it. Basically if you have a pinky tone to your skin, cool. If it's more peachy then warm. With darker skin tones it's more difficult to tell, but to be honest *really* dark skin (African usually) can get away with either. Indian (and surrounding countries) are usually better with peachy colours, true reds (blended well of course :D) or pinky browns. Chinese/Japanese etc can usually pull off any peaches or a gentle wash of raspberry pink. Usually any darker reds are a little too strong - only for the brave ;)
Disregard your hair/eye colour because, as I demonstrate, sometimes it means jackshit.

If you haven't got any obvious rosiness it doesn't really matter with pale skin!
If, however, you hve really pigmented cheeks and lips like me, any peach looks like dirt :cmdunno:

I am very pale with no rosiness whatsoever. Oh so this means I can go either peachy or pinky???
