Question:
Keeping My Make Up Simple - Help!
Its a new year and I really just want to keep things simple.
Not really been one for makeup anyway, just a smidge of powder and clear gloss....
I want to go back to having a simple approach to my makeup, but believe that it starts with my skincare regime which I have now ammended thanks to Simple Skincare. So whenmy skins quits farting around, what would you suggest I use.
Just had a baby boy, so I'm keen to try and rock it as a yummy mummy but not a mummy who refuses to kiss her little one becuase she's got too much crap on her face if you know what i mean....
What would you say the main products i should have in my cosmetic bag are on a day to day basis, and then what should I used when I want to rock the show - where do i start?
I have chocolate brown skin and use MAC NW50 pressed powder and as I said clear gloss. I wear glasses which are a major part of my face, but my best assest is my mouth. Any ideas??
Thanks in advance

I think that even if you don't use any other makeup, a slick of mascara and a bit of lip gloss or lipstick makes all the difference to your look and is sometimes all that you need.
If you fancy trying something else skinwise why not experiment a bit, things like Bobbi Brown Shimmerbricks seem to pop up a lot on the forum or get a nice blusher to give your cheeks a rosy glow without much effort.
I've just discovered MAC eye pigment in deckchair which is the most gorgeous shimmery dusky pink colour - it looked great on me, even better on my sister (who has olive skin) and I put it on my colleague who has darker skin and it *still* looked gorgeous. Perfect for just highlighting your eyes without over doing it.
As hols said, a slick of black mascara and a dab of lippy will do wonders. A lovely deep peachy colour would look fabulous with your colouring. The Bobbi Brown shimmer bricks are really popular too - we do a version at The Body Shop and the bronze colour is :faint: Again it looks great on everyone - I wear a little on my cheeks to warm my skin up, but we have two ladies who come in who have darker skin and they sweep a little all over their face for a healthy glow and then pile it on their cheeks as a blush - and they always look stunning.
So... basically a shimmery eye colour, mascara, lipgloss and a sweep of shimmery bronze to warm up your skin and you'll be set :D Do stick to powder shimmers though and only the minimum - less likely to transfer that way :)
The basics are concealer (to cover blemishes and under eyes), Mascara, Lip gloss and blusher/shimmer/bronzer (dependant on what you require).
Concealer is probably the trickiest buy, mainly in terms of getting the consistency and colour right. I'd recommend going to several counters and test loads before buying.
This is one of the best threads we've had on concealers in a while I think, with particularly good advice from OriginalCindy:
However, if you have really good skin you may find that just a daub of benefit's moonshine is all you need to give you a glow, and if you want to simplify it even more you could just have your eyelashes tinted. That should take all of 2 seconds in the mornings!! All that and a bit of lip balm and *ta dah*: Yummy Mummy!
If your mouth is your asset, then I would use lipstick. You could use red, peach, bronze, purple.. Go wild! As for your eyes: you could use black eyeliner, purple, grey and black eye colours... The list of colours is endless. I, myself, avoid base and just use eyeshadow and lipstick. You could also groom your eyebrows to make the most of your eyes.
