Question:
Philosophy The Great Mystery
Further to my thread about Philosophy being on QVC t'other day I received my order yesterday which consisted of Purity Made Simple cleanser and The Great Mystery which is a deep cleansing "paste" described as a "one minute facial". I tried it today and I've got to say it's fab! You massage it in and then leave it for one minute and after I'd rinsed it off my skin looked so glowy and my skin doesn't do glowy!
Has anyone else tried this or any other Philosophy products that you'd like to recommend? I fancy trying one of the three in one shower gel thingies but always think they're a bit pricey for what they are?
Sweetpea,
If you are thinking of trying the shower gels I would definitely advise you to give them a go. I absolutely LOVE them. I tend to buy them appropriate to the season (e.g. just finishing Lemonade for summer, then Gingerbreadman for autumn, then onto my favourite Cinnamon Buns for winter/christmas).
Since I first tried them, I won't use anything else & they last for ages too. I've just found them on Strawberrynet.com & only been charged £11.50 with free delivery. I buy them in US $ & they work out cheaper.
Also, their mineral foundation is the best I've tried (have tried Lily Lolo, L'Oreal, Bare Escentuals, Neutrogena) & I've just bought their application brush from Strawberrynet too.
Finally, I wear their Pure Grace perfume all the time, it smells so clean & fresh.
Not a fan of foody smelling bath products.
But I do like the skincare. The Great One the two step microdelivery set is amazing. The microdelivery daily wash is excellant too.
I bought mine from Just Beauty Direct to you!, High quality cosmetics and skincare at great prices
Jayne is great and usually has more than listed on the site.
Hi. I'm glad you've posted this because I really want to try The Great Mystery but have been so disappointed by the other skincare products I have tried by Philosophy. MrM bought me a kit last Christmas comprising of Purity, Hope in a Jar, Hope in a Tube and Ibelieve. Purity was really good at clearing my whiteheads but felt very soapy and left my skin feeling tight, HIAJ did nothing for me and the smell was horrid, HIAT was good but I didn't feel that it did anything more that my LE eye cream did and Ibelieve felt greasy. I've also read bad reviews about the Flawless Poreless saying that it's very thick and doesn't absorb well.
Saying that within the kit I got were the Amazing Grace shower gel and body lotion and, also, MrM bought me the cookbook set and hot cocoa shower gel and I second the hereger above that the shower gels are brilliant. I've just bought another three from QVC the same day you ordered yours. The shower gels I had for Christmas have only just run out hence why I've bought the three set now. Brilliant value for money.
I also wear the Amazing Grace and Pure Grace fragrances which are lovely and light - great for day wear.
Finally, I've also got A Few Good Men lipglosses which smell and taste delicious although they are a bit sticky and are in a tube - prefer my lipglosses with a wand for application.
Hope this helps.
 Excellent, thanks guys.
I definitely have to try the shower gels now *addsthemtoeverincreasinglist*. VALM, sorry to hear you didn't get on with Purity, I've gotta say it suits my skin brilliantly and doesn't leave it feeling dry or tight although it is oily to start with so maybe that's why? The Great Mystery smells gorgeous, just like fresh lavender and contains natural sea salt (as I discovered when some accidentally got in my mouth :cmdunno: ) which is what makes your skin glow I think.
I tried HIAJ last year some time and whilst I liked it, it was slightly too rich for my skin type. I'd forgotten about the frangrances they do, I tried on in John Lewis one day and it was :faint: but can't remember which one it was . Where is the best (read: cheapest!) place to get them from?
