Question:
Dry Itchy eyes please help !!
Hi there
Would any of you lovely people be able to recommend anything.
My eyes started to itch yesterday in work and when I got home they looked really red around the outside. Ive got up today and the skin under and in the corner of my eye is really dry and tight, and there are loads of red blotches all round my eye, there itching like mad and im trying my best not to scratch them.
Does anyone know anything that may help, I look about 10 years older as they are so dry, Ive got Vitamin E gel but I dont know if this may irritate it even more, oh and Ive got some aqueos cream aswell (not sure on the spelling of that :D ).
Any advice would be great
Thanks xx
how about trying some chamomile tea bags left to go cold as an eye compress?
just place them over the eyes and lay down for about 10-15 mins, then maybe you could apply some aqueous cream(only if its one without sls in it!)or put your eye gel in the fridge for a while and apply some of this after the compress
another great product for the eyes is liz earle eye bright, this can be used to soak cotton pads and used as a compress too
hope this helps
I second the eyebright, its very soothing. Im prone to eye infections and use eye drops called opticrom. It instantly soothes the itching and moisturises the eye. You can get it in boots.
A third on the Liz Earle Eyebright!
Have you tried any new products lately that may have caused a reaction? I thought my eyes were pretty tough, I've never had them be sensitive to anything and about a month ago I tried a new mascara and I ended up with similar symptoms to you - not nice!
Hope you're feeling better soon!
Thanks for the advice girls , I might order some of the Liz earle eyebright it sounds like it would be handy to have.
But in the mean time might get some of those drops from boots after work and try some tea bags on them.
The only thing I can think that might have irritated them is simple faces wipes , I used them the other day to take my eye make up, was feeling a bit lazy and I dont normally use them on my eyes. Better not use them again just incase.
Thanks again xx
