Question:
Want to have a bikini wax!!
Hi everyone
I have recently lost 2 and a half stone and have treated myself to some lovely new clothes and things. However I really want to make an effort and have my bikini waxed. I want to know how embarrassing it is, how to prepare, should I go for a normal or a Brazilian???:o
Any advice appreciated!
I go for brazilian as I think that if your going for one in a salon its good to go for something that really makes you feel tidy, so thats its worth the trip. I mean you could always ask them to just give you a bikini wax and then if you think you'd rather get more waxed ask them to do the brazilian.
Firstly congratulations on losing weight!!
I would go for a normal bikini wax the first time then if thats ok go for a Brazilian the next time if thats what you want. I done that as i didn't know how i would cope with the pain and though going for the normal first would ease me into it!
Take a painkiller before you go as well which takes the edge of the pain though its not that bad anyway and over quickly! Try and get a recommendation for a good salon from someone so you know they are good and don't go just before you are due your period as you are more sensitive to pain at that time.

I'm a fairly recent convert to Brazilians; they're seriously not that painful if you have a good waxer, and it's so worth it just for the nice clean feeling :o  I had a brazilian done straight away and didn't find it that bad; the most I ever did before was tidy things up ;) with a home wax kit.
It's not embarassing either - therapists are very professional and will put you at your ease, especially if they know it's your first time. Some places let you keep your knickers on, and just pull them around as needed, so wearing stretchy soft pants is a good idea! Not everywhere will do that though, so be prepared to disrobe completely from the waist down!
Take a paracetemol an hour or so beforehand and buy some sudocreme for afterwards; pat it on before you go to bed and it's quite soothing and helps take down any redness.
