Question:
Please help me "fine tune" my new acrylic nails!!
I had a full set of acrylic gel tips applied on Saturday and very nice they are too. Unfortunately I now have at least one interview this week which will probably involve a typing test and they are too long! My own nails were just a little too short to have just the acrylic applied to (for the everlasting french polish look, I think its called) so I had the tips. But I am wondering if I can file them a little rather than cut them as they are only slightly too long.
They were airbrushed white at the tips - I am assuming I can touch this up with normal varnish myself?
I cant get back to the nail place until the weekend so its a DIY job. Any of the usual lovely nail techs around today to shed some light??
Many thanks :D
hi i dont know how much help im going to be here, but since you're desperate, here we go!
I tried touching up my airbrush tips with boujois white french tip polish and it just looked a mess, to me it looked obvious where i'd tried to touch up but from far away it was fine
gentle filing in one direction with a large emery board would be my best suggestion
good luck with the interview!
I had a similar problem a few weeks back - very gentle filing is the best idea.
Good luck!

I'm probably too late but you need a 180grit file, if you can get to a salon or a wholesalers you'll get one there.
I'm a bit puzzled as to why they couldnt just do the forever french on the tips though? I do this, apply natural tips then do a french polish in acrylic, its not just for natural nails?
I've never used an airbrush so dont know if you can polish over it, but you could gently buff the paint off and then shine your nails with a buffer and then paint on a french polish...
