Question:
please help my skin,im desperate!
i really really need some recs for my skin
its so dry and damaged,if i wash my face and dont apply cream it feels extremely tight and itchy.
I also have a damaged barrier, with lots of tiny superficial "cracks" on the surface and lots of little criss cross lines
however im also prone to acne, sore red lumps, and bumps under the skin,im finding it so difficult to find products that repair the dryness and barrier but dont aggravate my acne!
my skin is also very sensitive, probably because of the dryness
as most of you will prob know,im currently only using aqueous cream to cleanse and moisturise, its not too bad as a face wash but i think it could be causing acne, ive developed alot of spots on my jaw line and neck which is unusual for me as my problem area is usually my cheeks
it also stings slightly when left on my skin
i know your not all skin experts but i just thought some of you may have the same problem, and can tell me what you use etc
please help!:boohoo:
ps,please dont say go to my gp cos his the one who put me on aqueous
Hi well I was gonna say go to your gp being honest as it sounds as if your skin is too sore for over the counter products just now.Couldnt you go back to him/her and ask to be referred to a skin specialist? Or maybe some antibiotic cream might help? Sorry I cant help more but would hate to advise something which might make your skin worse.Good luck x
I agree with almost40. I'd to hate to recommend something only for it to cause a reaction to your skin. I would ask the doctor is they could refer me to a dermatologist.

I agree with Almost and Carina, I think your skin is very sensitive now, so adding something non-prescript might cause allergy. Going to a dermatologist is way to go.
thanks for your suggestions so far
to be fair though, dermatologists only prescribe things like cetaphil etc anyway, and their are so many contrasting opinions from different dermatologists
ive spoke to my gp about this before and he says that most dermatologists will advise aqueous and similar products anyway
im so fed up:(
