Question:
Changing skin care - Help
Sorry for the title, I didn't really know what to put.
But I was wondering what your views were on changing skincare routine.
My skin has been pretty awful recently so I decided to change the products I've been using. I went to Space NK and they recommended Eve Lom so I bought the little starter kit. They did mention that it'll take about 2 weeks before I start to see an improvement and one girl said 'oh your skin may get worse before it gets better'. So I've been using it for just over a week and my skin is worse than it's ever been. I have stopped using the products and just cleaning my face with water and the muslin cloth and using a moisturiser for sensitive, allergic skin (can't remember what it's called but my mum gave it to me, I guess it's a bit like e45). I have raw patches on my cheeks and spots and bumps under the skin. :boohoo: it's just awful. My skin is so sensitive now which it never was before.
I'm going to go back to SpaceNK to ask advice, I think I may have had a bad reaction to the EL products so don't really think I should continue with them, but I just don't know what to do. :( I'm sure this isn't what they meant by worse before it gets better is it?
I don't really know what advice I'm looking for really, but just wondered if:
a. anyone else has had a reaction to Eve Lom
and
b. what on earth I should do about my skin.
My cheeks look so sore that someone at worked asked if I'd been punched in the face yesterday. :cmeek: :(
Hello popoki, sorry to hear about your skin :(
The first thing sprang to my mind when I read your post is 'she should go to the doctor'. Sounds a bit drastic I know, but if the skin is bugging you so much, I think it is worthy. And judging from your condition, using something new may trigger some allergic reactions and it's not good at all.
Sounds very basic, but do not touch your breakout place so much and eat more veggies/fruits, alongside with drinking more water might help, if you are not doing it right now.
Hope this helps :higgies:

definately take the eve lom back,i had the same problem!
dont let them talk you into trying it for longer, demand your refund your well within your right!
go to boots pharmacy and ask for a tub of aqueous cream, use this as your face wash, and moisturiser,i had a reaction to dermalogica and my doc and pharmacist recommended this to me.My skin is very sensitive, very dry and damaged but acne prone so im always haveing probs with my skin
aqueous cream can also remove make up,i remove it with a face sponge rather than splashing it off as this feels cleaner
hope this helps
jo x ps its only about £3
Sorry to hijack, Beauty Freak do you find aqueous cream is sticky as a moisturiser? I find it OK as a cleanser but whenever I've used it as a moisturiser its felt sticky and my doctor told me not so long ago that the medics aren't recommending it anymore as it causes reactions in people. I am tempted to get some as a face wash though.
Eve Lom ruined my skin.
I used their cleanser twice and suffered the most severe reaction I've ever had - my head swelled up, I could barely open my eyes, my whole head and chest were covered in rash and I generally looked like those people who had a reaction to black hair dye. Several years on and my skin still hasn't recovered. I have rosacea and can only use a handful of products that don't cause my skin to completely freak out.
I'm sorry it happened to you as well. Stop using the products NOW, take some anti-histamies and absolutely take everything back for full refund. Go asap because when I took the cleanser back after my skin looked better and I could actually bring myself to leave the house for the first time in 10 days the SA had the cheek to doubt me because she apparently never heard of anyone being allergic to Eve Lom
