Why can i put on my HUGE dried out spot?
Question:

Why can i put on my HUGE dried out spot?
  Hi
I read Ohara's thread about massive spots on her chin...i got three this xmas too!
One of my massive ones has dried up (i used freederm) but because my skin is so so dry it has got even worse. It is now about the size of a 5p coin - there is no actual spot its just red/flaky and really sore. I wake up in the morning and where my skin has moved lots (say if ive yawned) its started to bleed..
Its really sore and obviously looks disgusting. Anyone know what i can put on it? I would usually put freederm/toothpaste on spots which works for me but this isnt a spot now just a mass of sore ugliness! Some kind of soothing gel/moisturiser i was thinking...any rec's?
Thanks
xx

I wouldn't really recommend putting anything on spots to dry them out, because what happens is - your skin actually produces more oil as it gets dryer - if that makes sense. Tea tree oil is good and so is toothpaste and suno cream that some one mentioned on another thread.

Try using some witch hazel and tea tree cream, it might sting a bit but it clears away any nasties and in a cream form will provide moisturiser to stop it drying out, apply it with a cotton bud to stop spreading germs from your fingers onto it and don't pick at it. It usually takes around 4 - 7 days for it to clear, then it's just a case of carrying on the routine till your satisfied, if it's dry and flaky try to keep it moisturised, but do it hygenically :)
