Anti-wrinkle products, do they really work?
Question:

Anti-wrinkle products, do they really work?
  Hi everyone,
I'm sure this has been covered many times, so one more can't hurt;)
What do people really think of anti-wrinkle products? I'm in my early 30s and have definitely started noticing some fine lines around my eyes and other areas of my face which I'm not too happy about...
My routine has always been very simple - water, moisturiser (clarins) and in the past year I started using an eye cream (Garnier) as well, but I can see myself starting to fall pray to clever marketing and scare tactics. There are obviously loads of products on the market, for various budgets, all promising to banish fine lines and prevent wrinkles from ever appearing but I'm very skeptical. I just can't see how anything can stop nature:lol:
So...over to you. Any opinion is welcome!
Cheers,
GG:)

Truth?
No! Unless fillers or facelift.
Environmental aging using sun screen everyday, don't smoke and not much alchol can help.
But aging is also a natural process and that is the one which nothing will really stop.
Once you have a wrinkle you can soften the look but otherwise its there for the rest of your life.

Truth yes!!!!!

Retinol (Pure vitamin A) is the only chemical in skin products, scientifically proven to work. Normally dermatologists use it in treating skin, but you can buy products that contain it in lower concentrations - but it DOES work. I have attached a link to a dermatological study which proves that it works! It was in all of the papers a few months back.

I've been using a couple of fab products since then that are so much cheaper and so much better quality than anywhere else!

I'm also in my early 30s and started to notice the same so launched an all out assault. The best thing I have found is The Sanctuary radiance boosting facial oil. I only use a tiny tiny bit at night, and shove my night cream over the top.
I've also started using a toner which I didn't before, to close my pores up a bit more.
Might just be me, but my face seems to be looking brighter. I'm sure the wrinkle are still there, but they're harder to notice and I just feel my face looks better.
Oh, and a tad of fake tan work wonders for some reason.
Basic rules I follow now - always wear a moisturiser with SPF in it (Clinique Superdefense at the moment) and wear sunglasses whenever it's vaguely sunny to stop you squinting!!

I would say yes and no. Obviously heredity plays a part so you can inherit good skin or wrinkly skin. Also smoking and sunbathing - really lines your skin. Nothing can take those wrinkles away. But a good moisturiser can temporarily smooth your skin and make the lines look less noticeable. Remember also that the sunbathing you did when you were a kid will show up 20 years later so there is no way to undo that.

I would say my skin looks a little better than it would have if I had not used creams all my life. And it does look better with some moisturisers - smoother and more glowy. But nothing apart from a scalpel will take away most of them.
