Question:
giving up foundation!!
hi there
i really want to stop wearing so much make up , well mainly foundation, cos i used to wear it cos i had rubbish skin but its quite nice now, but im just a bit scared ! i just want something lighter perhaps thatll just even out my skintone but not make me look like im absolutly caked in it. can anyone recommend a tinted moisturiser or lighter foundation or something ?that i could try. also i wear one of those moisturisers with a bit of fake tan in, so i want something that will compliment a tan rather than hide it.
after all these years of foundation im not sure how i'd feel with nothing at all on my face, which is quite sad i suppose :o
anyhow hope u can help
xx
Hi there
One of the girls on here suggested to me aaaaaaaages ago the boots botanics tinted moisturiser as I wanted to stop wearing foundation so much, and to be honest, it's brilliant! It looks quite dark at first when you squeeze it out of the tube, but it blends so well into your skin (and it takes to every skin tone there is), and it's really moisturising too, it doesn't feel as heavy as foundation, but if I want to wear something a bit more then I mix in a tiny bit of my usual foundation and it works a treat.
Here's a linky.
I've stopped wearing foundation as much as I used to, and switched to just using it on bits of my face that needed evening out, with a powder over the top.
And recently I've just discovered mineral foundation (from http://www.lilylolo.co.uk/) which is great because it's a powder, so it doesn't feel like you've got a lot on.
A tinted moisturiser may be the way to go & if you still need more coverage, fluff some mineral powder over the top.
Alternatively, try mixing some mineral powder in your fave moisturiser. MPs are highly pigmented so will even your skin tone out without looking the slightest bit heavy.
My fave summer look is light but evens me out - Clarins Flash Balm, Smashbox apricot primer or my new fave primer, the Rimmel Recover Perfect Skin in apricot with a light floof of Benefit Get Even in the evenings or some Sheer Cover MP for the day (the SC increases the spf).
Mineral foundations really don't make you feel as though you have foundation as they are so light. I use Lily Lolo as well which has made a huge difference to my skin overall and doesn't give a 'caked' appearence. For tinted moisturisers I like Stila Illuminating TM-gives a very healthy look!
