Pills that make you tan really good
Question:

Pills that make you tan really good
  Hi all,
Me and my girlfriend are going away to spain in a few weeks and she was telling me about this article she read where a journo tried out different pills / tanning stuff.
Her absolute favourite was a course of pills which she took a month or so before she went away which meant when she went away she picked up an awesome tan.......
Sorry to be vague but does anyone have any idea what these pills could be or does anyone have any recommendations as me and my girlfriend really want to come back with a really good tan.
Thanks in advance :)

tanning supplement
They are probably talking about Imedeen Tanning Optimizer - you get 60 tablets for £38.50 (from boots) - sometimes they have offers though. Not cheap but they certainly work for me.
I use them around 6 months out of every year as I am naturally pale and freckly but can get a nice base colour with these without much effort in the sun as I am a fidget and get hot too quickly, and of couse, don't want to get too old before my time by burning my skin.
You still need to wear at least a 15 SPF upwards though depending where you are going away to as the pills do not offer any skin protection, only help to stimulate your tanning pigments.
There is a new one out on the market from France as well now (I think Boots sell it now too) called SunSublim - cheaper price but I haven't tried them out yet.
Have a great holiday - am well jealous!!

yes - course - start asap. It won't do you any harm and it will help you "keep" your tans as well when you get home - remember you can also get tanned in this country as well. (even when it's cloudy) - those pesky rays go right through clouds. Just be careful and don't expect too much in the first 3 days.
My cousin is a dermatologist and he showed me a really interesting article in a medical journal once about melanin and sun stimulation. Did you know it takes around 72 hours of sun stimulation for a base tan to gather - anything you get too quickly before that will not last as a defence for your skin.
Ok, there were lots of other factors etc. but that was the jist. Anywhoo, those pills certainly help me. Get a box each.
Also - exfoliation is key as well before you leave - get rid of all those pesky dead skin cells before you go - you don't want a tan developing on skin that is just about to "fall off" as it were.
...and - make sure you don't scrub your skin in the shower - just pat dry and apply lots of aftersun whilst the skin is still drying off.
It's not the quick fix tan that is the most impressive (because it ends up flaking off much too quickly) - it is the natural inner glow that lasts for ages that counts - a base that can be built on. Then self tan with moisturiser can be added to give you a glow almost to the end of the year!!
Mind you - you may already know all this - so aopoiges if I'm preaching to the choir.
