GHD'S have died! HELP!!
Question:

GHD'S have died! HELP!!
Just dyed my hair, sat down to straighten it and NOTHING. Switched them on, no red light, no heat, no nothing!!
I immedietely called GHD and they told me to send them back to them. I have had them replaced 2 or 3 times already but now they only pay postage if they are still in the year of purchase (which they are not) so I have to pay to send them back. AND it's a friday AND there is a postal strike on at the moment!!!!
What do I do?...I can make do with my 200c curling tongs fore now but I need new ones. If GHD want to charge me a bomb to get them fixed or say they are unfixable and I have to buy new ones should I get more GHD or a cheaper pair. I have gone through 3 already!
Wasn't there a deal recently where you can exchange your old GHD's for new ones and get £20 off? Does anyone have a link for that? I couldnt find anything on the website in my panic.
HELP HELP HELP!!!

The trade in details are on the GHD site -----} http://www.ghdhair.com/go/2007-iron-...e/?CMP=EMC-075
I would send them an e-mail first saying how disappointed in the brand you are that you have gone through 3 pairs in a few years. I think for the price you pay they should be reliable for a bloody long time.
If you don't want to fork out for GHDs again then I would recommend Remmingtons. I bought some when my GHDs were being repaired and I *couldn't* live without straighteners:rolleyes: and they are great. A few years ago there was nothing to touch GHDs but other brands have caught up now, and whilst I love my GHDs I don't know if I would spend that much on staighteners again.

Yeah you're right I think. I've perused some comparison sites and Babyliss Pro 230 have been recommended quite highly and they range between £30 (on ebay) and £69 (in the littlewoods catalogue. They are hotter than the GHD's which and the plates are longer which means faster work? I have thickish Afro hair so I need something as hot if not hotter than GHD's really.
