Question:
Opaque vs. shimmery nail polishes
Does anyone else prefer opaque polishes to shimmery ones? For some reason I just don't think I suit shimmery/glittery ones!
But I can't seem to find many, at least not on the high street. Most are shimmery! I love the Bourjois violet and deep red shades, and I have just fallen in love with OPI's Can You Dig It? (bright opaque violet).
Do you have a preference?
I like opaque colours if I'm having a manicure - they aren't as forgiving as a shimmer for bad applications that I do myself.
I prefer opaque ones too. Sometimes though, I have bought shimmery ones by mistake, that are quite see through. To use them up, I paint them over an opaque one I've had on about a week & then it slightly changes the colour & perks the manicure up.
I prefer creme nail polishes, those without the shimmer and glitter. I think it looks more cuter.
Im on a OPI nail polish addiction right now, im going crazy over them, i really like the colour chapel of love and also make love, gorgeous colours!
I use both, depending on what I want at the time. I also use the shimmer on top of the opaque at times. I don't like glitter on my toes though and tend to stick to opaques there. I think it looks classier. I like to have fun with nail varnish on my fingers though. I love having airbrush designs put on when I have some extra cash. I have also had some very simple airbrush designs on my toes and everyone asked me where they could get it done. It looked so cute. The salon I used to go to, has now shut down!
