I look like a sunburnt Oompa Loompa!
Question:

I look like a sunburnt Oompa Loompa!
Well I don't anymore, since I managed to wipe it all off, but I did earlier and it was terrible. :boohoo: I went to a Clinique counter to ask about compact powder foundations. The one she showed me wasn't a powder one although now I've looked on their website I've seen they do do one so I don't know why she didn't show me that  . Instead the SA got out a creamy one which looked like it would be awful for my blemish prone skin. She then told me she was going to use a "nice warm shade" to warm my skin up. My skin couldn't be more cool toned if it tried but I let her try it on me anyway. It was seriously orange and there were massive sponge marks all over my face where she hadn't blended it properly. I asked if she had one that was more pink toned and she told me no because that would make me look orange so god knows what colour she thought I looked already!

She then said that for a pinky look I should use blusher and pulled out a bright plummy coloured blusher which she then used ALL OVER my face which was what produced the sunburnt effect. I left swiftly at this point and was practically in tears! I ran to superdrug, trying to cover my face with my hair, and bought some face wipes and wiped it all off. It took 3 wipes to get rid of it all! Sorry for the massive long essay, I'm still feeling traumatised and had to let it all out!

Yikes!!! Oh my god..........she sounds horrible:eek: No wonder you're traumatised.......:cmeek: stupid woman :nono:
See this is why I like prescriptives, they understand the concept of cool skin tones, and come to think of it, I'm sure they do a compact thingy.....or at least they did used to.;)

I just can't imagine what she was thinking! Yeah Prescriptives do do one, I'm hoping to go shopping in Norwich in a couple of weeks so I think I might buy it then as they do one in the same shade as the virtual skin I already use and that's a perfect match.

Aw hun! Like Dani said, this SA obviously had no idea what shades suited your skintone. A plum blush applied all over your face :head: .
