FAO Fairh Poppins - TBS Aloe Face Wash
Question:

FAO Fairh Poppins - TBS Aloe Face Wash
Hiya, I went into TBS yesterday to ask about the aloe vera range and I got a sample of the SPF face lotion. I do really fancy the face wash but am a bit wary (even though its for sensitive skin) because of my eczema as I am supposed to use emolients to wash with but my skin is itchy no matter what I use. I have read where you have eczema so can you advise if this face wash would be OK?

Answers:

Personally I wouldn't use the face wash - it is drying plus the foaming agent is likely to irritate eczema.
I would use the cream cleanser with one of the luxury facial flannels (has no fibres to irritate skin but sucks off dirt - seriously ace) or a very soft flannel. Just massage it into your skin and then wipe off with a hot wet flannel.
I can't use the SPF though (I'm allergic to chemical SPF) so your skin may be slightly hardier than mine.

Hi, thanks for your advice, I won't bother with the face wash now.
Re the cream cleanser, can you use it to remove eye make up aswell with the face cloth? Do you have to wash the face cloth out every time you use it? I am always wary of using the cloths because I feel it could be a faff washing them out or having to have so many to go at while they are all in the wash.
I seem to be OK with the SPF lotion so far. Do you use the normal day cream then if you are allergic to SPF? What do you use for sun protection? Sorry for all the Q's but its interesting to know what other people use when they have eczema.

I don't suffer constantly from eczema it's something that comes and goes. Sun protection is a huge problem - the one thing that doesn't irritate is a garnier clear one that states NOT FOR USE ON FACE :cmdunno: My foundation has SPF in but that doesn't irritate my skin - it's so odd!
The luxury facial flannel is a bit of a miracle - it's made of rubber (wetsuit material) and dries hard. All you do is give it a good rinse under the cold water tap and drape it over something and it'll dry hard so no bacteria can lurk in it - which is fab for people with sensitive skin!
The aloe cleanser is okay for use on eyes - I personally use a separate eye make up remover.
