ARghhh rubbish skin!
Question:

ARghhh rubbish skin!
Why oh why does my skin mess up right when i need to look good :boohoo:
I have a horrible 'thing' on my NOSE, of all places! It's not really a spot its just a red shiney area that hurts like a bruise! As well as general little spots on my forehead and chin :boohoo:
I'm going out tonight, then i have a great date tomorrow with a guy i really like, and i just feel like a clown :(
What can i do?
I'm thinking of just drinking loads of water just eating fruit today, steam my face, anything else?
I dont really have time to go out and get anything new so what can i do at home to get that horrible red thing away?
Sorry for the rant girls, i know we've all been there!

Hi

Firstly a big  for you, I hate days like these, it's always when there is something big on the horizon as well!!

I would suggest a nice hot bath and applying a face mask whilst in the bath - a deep cleansing one maybe. The Sanctuary do a clay based deep cleansing mask which is available from boots in small sachets at like £2 each - they are great for emergencies like this I find.

Also, I find that witch hazel applied to any spots/blemishes overnight really helps reduce the redness.

Hope some of this helps and hope the date goes as planned!!

I would use a good cleanser and a light moisturising cream to keep your skin soft & smooth. I would also use a spot treatment directly on your spots. This should dry them out, without drying your skin. Tea tree oil is meant to be good for this purpose. Why not see what the Body Shop offer? And I do think it is important to use moisturiser, as it helps keep your skintone even and reduces spots. You could use the Johnsons "Clean & Clear" moisturiser. Also, spots aren't necessarily the result of dirty skin: in fact, a lot of people with acne may well keep their skin very clean. It is hormones that can result in spots. But you can use the right combination of products to reduce the problem. Also, if the tea tree doesn't work, your doctor can prescribe a cream for acne prone skin.

I'd do as little as possible. New products and steaming might bring out loads of toxins and make things worse.
A spot fighting face cream does sound like a good idea, after a gentle exfoliation.

Thanks for the advice, hmm now i'm torn should i go out and buy some products mentioned and use them tonight, or wait it out?
I have pretty sensitive skin, last time i used tea tree on my spots it burnt my skin and i looked terrible.
I'm so fickle i want to get rid of the spot as soon as possible but i dont want to risk making it worse!
Hmm i'll have a think, thanks alot again! :)
