Question:
Any recs for eyeshadow shades for a smokey look?
Hi!
I've got my grad ball next week, and wanted to get some new eyeshadow to do a smokey look as i already know i'll be wearing my new juicy tube gloss which is in a nude shade. I quite often experiment with a smokey look, but I'm after an eyeshadow that is as black as possible - I've never mastered eyeliner on the top and so would like to use a shadow. I dont want to spend too much (as I've finished uni and haven't got a job yet!) but if anyone has any recs that would be great! I've seen there is a bourjois one that is black and glittery, but when i tried it on the back of my hand, it seemed very sheer. Has anyone tried it/ got any recs?
Thanks!
MAC Black Tied. I know it's £10, but it's exactly what you are looking for! It has specks of glitter in but they don't show up lots.
Other than that, 17 do 2 shades called 'Darkness' and 'Thunderbolt' which are both quite dark, and then you could use their glittery silver (name forgotten now!) for a highlighter. EDIT: or even better, they have a 3 in 1 pallette that has black, silver and white IIRC.
hth :)
thanks! sounds good!
My mate did my eye make-up the other day and gave me the best smokey eyes I have ever had. She used Bourjois- but it was a trio - white, a shimmery light grey and a really dark shimmery grey. They looked fab together and almost bluey shimmmery grey. And cheaper than MAC too (although I normally buy MAC and most of my colours are MAC). I had to go out and buy it immediately - I haven't been disappointed!
oooh a bluey grey might look really good on me as i have dark blue eyes and blonde hair. I may just go on a blow out and by a new brush too..i currently use a no7 eye shadow one, but i use tbs brushes for foundation/blusher etc. I've read a lot of good stuff about mac ones here, any recs on a good general eyeshadow one? i have a good ruby and millie eye lining brush, but a good general one would be good, i don't think i really like the bristles on no7 brushes...
