Hollywood! =S
Question:

Hollywood! =S
I hate my bodyhair, and if i had the time or the money i'd get rid of it all, except the hair on my head! But, i dont have time or money to do so.
I wanted to get a hollywood, but ive never had a bikini wax, does it hurt?? and will there be lots of benefits?
Currently shaving, at first its good but then starting to see it has a few downsides.

Will it hurt? and do you have to go to a special salon to have it done, or will any salon do them? also underarms, do they hurt?

any advice would be welcome guys and dolls! :)

I've never had a hollywood but get a Brazilian done. I'd say that because you've never had that area waxed before then you would find it painful. I find that the more you get it done, the less painful it becomes as you get used to it. I personally have a high pain threshold so to me a Brazilian isn't very painful at all.
But for me I found underarm waxing really painful, but totally worth it.
I find waxing to be so much easier than shaving - can't be bothered with leg waxing but bikini line is good to wax I find as I hate the stubblyness of hair growing back - with waxing you don't notice the growth coming back and it's not prickly and it stays smooth for a long time. The only downside with waxing is waiting for the hair to grow back to be able to get waxed again, but you get used to it!
You'd have to get pricelists from your local salons. Not all salons offer Hollywoods, but if you just ring round and ask that's easy enough. Price wise, my salon charges £14 for a brazilian and £20 for a hollywood which is very cheap I think compared to other salons, you could be looking to pay around £30 for a hollywood I think but it does vary.
HTH.

Hi just wanted to say that i have psos and have found hair increasing on my body over the last few years, whereas before i could just wax my legs and underarms, also being indian with dark hair does not help. Tried laser 4-5 years a go on face, underarms and was surprised with the results on my underarms, as with waxing after 10 days or so the hair was visible or the area looked dark.
After 5 treatments and 3 return top ups my underarms were clean, whereas there has been a huge difference on my face hair still comes back, and because of pcos hair still grows back, but i have bought face epilator from argos and use on face and bikini line and also use the lunatips hair programme which has been good and i remove hair on dates they tell you and my hair on legs arms and bikini and face has reduced, although you have to use waxing or epilator as method of hair removal, as they say laser is a waste of money.
I do recommend waxing on bikini and underarms but suggest laser as a cheaper and less hassle free long term solution, or lunatips.

I just rang round local salons til I found one and it's not so bad, I see the same girl every time and we chat about what we're doing at the weekend, I always see her out on Saturday nights and she always says hi to me and I find that quite funny, 'cos she's seen my bits lol!
Brazilian and hollywood waxes are becoming more popular and more salons are including that in their list of treatments. Some places to a wax called a high bikini wax which maybe you could try before you go and get the full monty done.
I am usually hair free for about 4 weeks and then spend the next 2 weeks growing so I can go and be rewaxed.
As for the embarrassment factor - well it's not the most dignified of experiences but the therapist would have done it loads of times and if they are professional they should make you feel at ease. Just remember to get your therpaists name so you can make every appointment with her so you can have the same therapist everytime, makes it less embarrassing really!
