Question:
Getting samples- is it best to ask?
As some would say..shy bairns get nowt?
Is it best to ask for samples at the beauty counters when you are buying something or want to try something?
Last week I bought eight hour cream (the limited edition pot0 asked for a sample of the new 8hr body lotion and got a little tube of 8 hour cream, a little palette of four lipstick shades, a tube of 8 hr hand cream and a face mask thing.
samples
If i am seriously buying soemthing... then i ask what they can give me!!! if it's nothing I take my custom elsewhere.......
I usually ask and I mostly get. I think it's fairly obvious if someone is on the scrounge and obviously out for freebies and I make sure to sound serious and confident. I also take my business elsewhere if they refuse to give me samples that they obviously do have and I am a serious buyer.
im a firm believer of "if you don't ask, you don't get" and most of the time i do get something!
these counters always have samples and its worth asking
only way not to do it is to walk straight up and ask for a sample :D

I actually have a different opinion here.I don't literally walk straight up and ask for a sample. But i'd browse and say im interested in buying this but since its not cheap could i try a sample first. It normally works and in most of the cases i like it hence purchase it later.Having said that, most of the SAs in town know me so i don't feel awkward or anything, except a few who obviously have samples but wouldn't give any even if im buying loads. Also it depends on the brand, some brands just don't do samples.like benefit(they do pots but then again they don't normally give out any).
