Question:
cuticle/hand cream recs please
Hi there,
I am trying to find a good hand cream/cuticle cream.
I have a terrible habit of picking my cuticles when I am stressed or working night shift (as my b/f pointed out to me). Picking them makes them dry which increases the picking - vicious circle!
I am, ideally, after something not too greasy as I work with my hands and need them to be non-slip, so to speak. I have tried numerous products, including Lush Lemony Flutter and recently Nivea Moisture Boost. To date I think the best may have been one from Tesco - helping hands maybe - but the packaging isn't that great for having in your bag (bottle and pump).
Willing to pay the price to stop me picking my cuticles! Any suggestions welcome!
Hi Jeepers,
My hands are often in a terrible state as I wash them like a hundred times a day as I work in a care home. I also have dermatitis and have tried every handcream available but the best one Ive ever used and am still using now is L'occitane shea butter hand cream. Its remarkable stuff, it has helped to heal the cracks on my hands and it sinks into the skin straight away. Often what would happen with other hand creams is that they are so greasy that they would just sit on top of the skin but this one is very thick so you only need a tiny bit and it absorbs straight in. They also do a cuticle cream but I havent used it. You should be able to get it from debenhams if you dont have a L'occitane store near you. They also do mail order :)

I highly reccomend Hemp Chanvre Hand Protector from the Body Shop. It's sorted out the dry skin on my hands treat :)
