Question:
Open pores on face - how to minimise?
Hi all you skincare gurus! Wonder if you can help me?
I have really prominent open pores on my face - mainly on my nose and the my cheeks, near my nose.
My skincare regime isn't bad - I cleanse twice a day (either using a medicated facewash or Olay '7 Signs' wipes) and moisturise in the morning and before I go to bed (Clarins lotion and night cream - both light lotions with no SPF as that makes me spotty). I am also using Dalacin T lotion on my chin each morning and I exfoliate twice a week.
I drink plenty of water and eat a fairly healthy diet.
Is there any way I can reduce the look of thes HUUUUGE open pores? Spots were always my priority but now I have pretty much got that under control. I am really quite happy with my skin - it wouldn't be the end of the world if there was nothing I could do, but equally it would be nice to kick them into shape a bit...
Many thanks.
I have the same problem Sunshine and have read that pore size is hereditary and that cleansers, toners, and masks can only temporarily tighten the skin, making the pores appear smaller but not really changing them at all! :cmdunno:
You could try using a clay facial mask 1-2 times a week as this will clean your skin and make it feel tighter and the pores appear smaller!
Hope that helps! :)
I use Smashbox Photofinish Primer and it works really well. It doesn't get rid of all of my pores (that would take a miracle!) but they are much less noticeable :)
Biotherm's Line Peel (cream with purple bottle - weak peeling cream made, OK with people with sensitive skin) works SOOOOO well, but also very expensive - just try once and I think it worth investing if you like it! (I would love to, but no money at all...)
You could have a go at clinique's pore perfecting or if on a budget try Botanics.
