Are you an 'ethical' beauty consumer?
Question:

Are you an 'ethical' beauty consumer?
Do you buy/avoid products on their 'ethical' merits? Are you against animal testing?
Or do you not give these issues a second thought.
I have to admit to not giving a second thought. I know it's not the done thing to admit to nowadays, but if I like a product, I buy it.
I've never really stopped to think about it's origins, the conditions it was manufactured in etc...
I'm probably going to get a lot of disapproval for owning up to that, but, it's something I just don't think about.
Personally, I could never harm an animal-and in that sense I'm completely against the principle of animal testing. But, in practice, I just can't see a big cosmetic conglomerate stopping their practices just because I refuse to buy their make up/skin care etc...
Just my thoughts.

Answers:

I hate the thought of animal testing, but don't know enough about which brands to avoid. As a result I just buy from anyone and everyone. I do like the fact that TBS do give back to the communities, which not all brands do.
Slighlty OT, but I recently changed my cats food to a more holistic brand as I didn't like what I'd heard about the food they were eating.

Answers:

tbh, as bad as it sounds, i don't give it a second thought.

Answers:

I wish I was more ethical. But nowadays so many brands are owned by the same company that it's difficult to know. As keropi said, I admire what TBS is doing and I think it's something I'm going to start paying a lot more attention to.

Answers:

I wont knowingly buy from a company that tests on animals but I think it's difficult to know which brands do and don't. I would love it if someone could do a list of those who do and those who don't.
I must admit to never thinking about the 'fair trade' aspect of the beauty industy, how, where and who makes the products. I should spend more time looking into it.
