Blushers make me look too orange!
Question:

Blushers make me look too orange!
  Hi folks
Slightly embarassing! Had a little sample of Lily Lolo blusher and, like the others, made me look slightly Tangoed! Possibly because of the yellow undertones in my skin.
An exception to this is Nars 'Orgasm', but would like something without gold flecks in it.
Any suggestions would be appreciated!

Hmm Smooch all I can suggest is using a tinted moisturiser or foundation beforehand so your face isn't naturally pale, otherwise this will cause any blusher/ bronzer to look orangey on you as it will be too harsh!
Also when applying the blusher, dust your brush over the blush, and blow off any residue/ loose powder, that way on application, the blush should just be a light dusting, thus hopefully not looking too orangey on you. If you find it goes on too pale this way, then you can always build it up and layer the colour.
Also, maybe try a variety of shades out, I know that MAC (www.maccosmetics.co.uk) do LOADS of blushers/ bronzers in tons of shades! Perhaps start by looking at the lightest shades, just to give a hint of colour. You could always try some out at a local counter if there is one near you.
Don't forget with Summer fast approaching, once you have a slight tan on your face to give you that healthy natural bronze colour, then slightly darker shades of blush will look more natural in keeping with your skintone. :)
Hope that rabble helped! :p

What about a really cool pink, that should be a safe bet as there will be no gold, peach etc. Pout do one of their rouge blushers in a shade called pearly queen which would work well. Or generally just a proper pure pink, stila convertible colour in petunia is a lovely one. Although it looks a bit scary/bright in the compact, it's alot more flattering on. Mac also have lots of nice cooler pinks too. Pout's flush blush in flushed pink would be a good choice as well. I have all these blushes (apart from the pout rouge) in various colours myself as well and they're also very good blushers in general as well as having great colour choices.

Blushers can make me look orange, too. Including Nars Orgasm.

I've got a few of the blushes from Lily Lolo (samples, of course). Two are from the neutral colour spectum, and one is from the cool. Real Rouge and Rosebud don't make me look orange at all, and Rosey Apple is slightly warmer (has gold flecks) but not orange. But I only use a TINY amount of these, as I find them super pigmented.

I also love Stila Convertible Colours. Petunia and Poppy are my favourites, and as far away from orange as you can get.

Bourjois blushers also have some lovely cool colours, with no orange in sight. I can even wear a peachy colour from this range (Lune D'Or), which is a first!

I have the same problem and I've been using the Nars 'Orgasm' one for the last year or so. I just found another good one, though, the Benefit Cheekies range! I have a pinkish one and it's great, blends very well and doesn't make me look orange at all. Recommended! :)
