Question:
St Tropez spray tan coming off in patches!
Hi everyone!
Really hoping someone can help!
I had a St Tropez Spray Tan done 7 days ago,and have followed all the instructions re exfoliating and moisturising but it has now started to come of in patches and looks terrible! :boohoo:
It's almost like paint coming off! I have white circles on the inside of each arm (the underside of my elbow) and a big white patch inbetween my breasts and my neck is all patchy. The problem is, I have tried to exfoliate to get it all off or get it more even but the bits of tan that remain are really stubborn!
I also tried using St Tropez everyday on the white patches but that hasn't helped either :cmdunno:
I would rather get rid of all the colour and start again with the mousse or "everyday" as I would like to keep tanning myself at home.
Should I apply the St Tropez Mousse over the top of the white bits, or even all over or should I just leave it alone and try to hide it with clothes?
Does anyone have any advice on how to solve this or how to stop it happening in the future?
I wasn't too impressed with the spray tan itself, it seemed to be quite orangey in places and I found I get better and cheaper results just applying it myself at home! :cmeek:
Thanks!

You poor thing! I can totally sympathise with you, this has happened to me on occassion!
First of all, if you got 7 days out of the tan looking well, then thats good. Mine usually only lasts 3-4 days.
Secondly, you are right to get all the spray tan off before starting again. If you apply more to your skin now, it will be patchy - its best to have a clean base. This is IMO a downside to a spray tan, or any tan really.
How often did you moistrise and exfoliate? The more you moisturise, the better it wears off. Ideally 2 or even 3 times a day helps loads.
Your best bet now is to have a bath to soften your skin and then exfoliate again. I find using those little exfoliating gloves really helps. :)
Thanks Fashion Addict - I moisturise all over every day once a day - perhaps thats where I went wrong and I should moisturise in the evenings too? My skin is quite dry so that could explain it. I'll do that next time.
I don't have a bath in my flat, just a shower, but I can have a long shower and I'll keep scrubbing away with the exfoliator in the meantime. It's just a bit embarassing leaving the house with all these dodgy looking patches - it's quite extreme as I am so very pale underneath the tan!
Can't wait for it to go so I can start all over again - I feel so much better when tanned! :D
if u can brave it get to a swimming pool with chlorine and have a swim and that should remove most if not all of it especially if you dry off with a towel before rinsing if that makes sense!!
impressed with 7 days though!!! i too tend to only last 3-4 days!!
forgot to say exfoliating everyday is also a good way to help the tan come off evenly - i live the st tropez exfoliator!
