Question:
A question about No7 Protect and Perfect
I was lucky enough to get some Protect and Perfect yesterday from ordering it on the website on Saturday. I put some on last night and it made my skin feel like velvet. However, i read this on the website:
'A unique antioxidant complex helps protect against damaging free radicals, while concentrated levels of our intense skin-firming pro-retinol complex boost and maintain elasticity. Light, non-greasy.'
Well i wouldnt imagine theres many free radicals floating round in a darkened room when i am asleep so i used some this morning. I used my usual spf and put it over the top but my skin feels like an oil slick now. I will give it an hour and if it doesnt settle down i am going to have to wash it off. Now the Protect and Perfect doesnt state it contains a spf so i cant really depend on it as a spf for daytime use. The leaflet doesnt state when it is to be used and the website is no more helpful either.
Does anyone know when its to be used?
Mine arrived this morning and I have the same question!
Is Helen @Boots about??
Sorry to jump on thread, but I didnt want to start a new one..hope you dont mind, its just so confusing! Do you use it morning or night? In the morning I apply Glycolic cream, transformation cream (moisturiser) and SPF. Does it go on top of this or I presume before SPF?
At night I apply Glycolic cream and transformation cream...
Many thanks for helping us!
I think your best to apply any serum after you have cleansed and toned, but before you moisturize and apply your SPF, I use the R&R serum in the mornings only and i let it sink in before adding anything else, i use Boots own Soltan Face which moisturizes and has a SPF in as well ( i use 50 as i use Diacneal at night ) i don't get any problems and i have oily skin . think its a matter of letting each layer sink in and maybe don't over apply to much product, ( tho i do on the SPF :D )
hope that helps
Pacha x
Although my skin verges on dryness it is very particular about what products i use on it and how much. I didnt get round to washing my face an hour after i applied it this morning on top of my spf for the simple fact i went to the dentist for a check up and came back minus a wisdom tooth. My skin has absorbed some of the oils but theres no way i could put makeup on top of it. If i use too much product on my skin, i end up with huge open pores on my forhead, nose and chin but obviously i want to protect all of it.
On the whole i thought Protect and Perfect made my skin feel like velvet when i applied it last night and it would make a fantastic makeup base but theres no way i could wear it over my spf.
Pacha, i will try putting the Protect and Perfect on before the spf tomorrow, to see if it makes any difference.
PottyGirl i use the Glycolic peel once a week but i might give the glycolic cream a whirl next time because i use all the neutralizing pads before i am half way down the bottle of glycolic peel which i feel is a waste.
I think it's definitely supposed to go on before SPF. The serum is supposed to be able to sink into your skin so it goes on before moisturiser and SPF. Putting stuff on before it would probably prevent it from sinking in and that's why your skin feels oily. I'm sure Helen@Boots will be around soon, I've started a thread with a question for her as well.
