Question:
what's the deal with instant tan?
hi everyone, i dont usually post in this thread.
for self tan i usually use johnsons holiday skin- i'm quite a beginner when it comes to fake tan and feel ok using this.
i was thinking about trying an instant tan now though.do they show up immediately and then wash off or something else?
can anyone recommend a good one (somewhere along the johnsons holiday skin price range if poss)
thanks

Hi
Rimmel is probably the best value for an instant tan. I also like Benefit's one.
Like you say it is instant on application and washes off easily with soap and water. It's best to wear cosmetic gloves when applying as it really stains your hands. They have also just brought out a spray version if it which may be worth a look at. :)
Guerlian do an excellent tanning range. I have used their instant tanner many times and really liked it.
Just to add...
Never, ever go out wearing this for the evening if there is even a slight chance of rain. You will end up a horribly streaky, humiliated mess.
Not that I have personal experience of this, or anything... :o
I'm always too scared to really use these as I worry I'm just going to stain my clothes and boyfriend/friends/passers-by. I never think it would be that great for summer, either, when I'd be paranoid about the least bit of sweat making it run. Having said that, I did use the Rimmel one a few years ago and I seem to remember it giving a pretty nice result. They've probably improved a lot since then.
