Question:
Make up brushes
Hi,
I am a recent convert to lilly lolo and am about to order some full sized foundations etc. So should I order lily lolo brushes as well? What are they like? I know lots of people have been recommending the R&M brushes - are they better do you think?
Also, probably a stupid question but how do you clean your brushes and how often??? Do I need a special cleaner or will just soap and water do??
To apply mineral foundations you really should invest in a kabuki brush or a 'flat-top' buffer brush. I don't think a regular powder brush would give you the best result.
Not sure if Ruby & Millie do brushes designed for mineral foundations - I'm not familiar with their range.
ETA: I clean my brushes once a month and I just use a mild shampoo. :)
I use a MAC 187/188 or a M&S foundation brush to apply minerals. I use the foundation brush in a downwards stroke over the areas that need a little more coverage & then the MAC brush to give an allover flawless look.
I use Clinique's brush cleaner - it's a spray-on so the brush doesn't get saturated & start losing bristles.
i bought a chanel kabuki brush #8 recently to apply my lily lolo foundation with and it does give a much better finish then using a normal powder brush.
