Question:
Custom Blend Foundation
I purchased some Custom Blend Foundation on Thursday but I'm not that happy with it.
I have acne prone skin with some red acne scars so I asked for it to be full coverage but it just doesn't seem to blend and kind of sits on top of my face. Then within an hour it seems to have slipped off. It's actually made up of half base foundation and half base concealer!
I asked for it to be oil free.. but the girl who mixed it up just added and oil minimizer to the potion when the colour was mixed. Surely this doesn't make it oil free?
The girl who mixed it up kept asking the other girl's advice..which unsettled me a bit as she obviously wasn't that experienced at it. I'm pretty gutted at spending £45 on it :(
Bring it straight back for a refund - it sounds terrible and if nots right you are entitled to a refund.
I agree with fashionaddict, you shud definitely try returning it.
I use prescriptives custom blend concealer and it works like a dream on me. I have acne prone skin as well and my skin pigments really easily but the concealer is actually magical. Whoever sees me without makeup is amazed!!
The SA at prescriptives tried to convince me to get the foundation but I knew it can't have heavy enough coverage and I just didn't feel like spending £45!!
Return return and get the concealer!
Do you think I should?
I feel kind of funny about taking it back as I was happy with it at the counter before I left...and I did ask for it to be full coverage.
The problem is you never really know how a foundation is until you get it home and have tried it a few times.
Maybe they will try to add something to it to thin it out... rather than give me my money back.
Whats the deal with the custom blend concealer? Is it just blended to get the perfect colour or is the consistency and finish taken into account?
I really wanted this foundation to work for me... I'm kinda regretting coming away from Lily Lolo.
Yeah I really think you should - you are well within your rights.
You could let them fix it but as you were so unhappy with the girl who was making it for you I wouldnt risk it.
Stand your ground and say how unhappy you are. - i.e. its not blending right and it has no staying power. This was custom made for you and it should be perfect. Maybe try looking up some consumer rights so that you are sure in what you are saying. I live in Ireland so can't help you there. But I know under our legislation that if the product is that bad then you are entitled to a full refund.
Maybe you should try getting a sample of one of their ready made foundations - at least then you can try it before buying it. I use one of their ready made ones and find it good. I asked about custom blending it and she said there was no need as there are so many good ready made ones already.
Good luck
