Help! Cystic Spots
Question:

Help! Cystic Spots
  Help,
For a month now I have broken out in the worst acne I've ever had in my life, (last time i had acne was when i was 14). I have big massive hard cystic boil like spots on my cheeks , at least 8 on each cheek and they hurt like hell. I don't know what the hell to do, and I don't think anything i have put on my face has created it, as I've been using teh same old cream and cleanser and everything was perfect before new years.
I have been smearing Dermalogica's Special Clearing Booster on my cheeks everyday for 2 weeks now as I couldn't bear the swelling and pain and it's drying my skin up but no change with teh spots, i keep getting new ones everyday and teh existing ones just stay there, I am so annoyed as I have to go to a few big events in next few weeks and my skin looks a nightmare.
Has anyone got anything they can reccommend for this? also, I heard about Dalacin T, but where can I get it and does it have side-effects?

Answers:

hi there, I get those cystic acne bumps you describe, so I know they are no fun

I take antibiotics daily and have used the dalacin t lotion in the past - they are both great for preventing flare ups. Both are available on prescription. I think doctors are quite understanding about how acne impacts on a girl's self-esteem and are generally happy to treat it, so its worth making that appointment.

dalacin t can produce a bit of dryness where its applied. however, your doc shoudl have a chat with you to work out whats best for you.

have you just come off the pill or something? im just wondering if its a hormonal thing. then again, my doc said that acne can be very random and can crop up/go away at any time and its hard to predict

In the meantime, I think the sudocrem lovers here will recommend it. I wear it over night on my blobs - very sexy (!), but it helps!

i swear by dalacin t!
however since using paulas choice 2% lotion i am not really needing it much at the moment
have even stopped taking my evening primrose oil
to prevent it from drying the skin (dalacin t) u apply only to the spots and then apply moisturiser - i also dab it over the top over makeup etc throughout the day/night

Answers:

In the last month dalacin T has been amazing for me.

Another rec for the Dalacin T. I've not needed it as much since using Paula's BHA, though - a good thing as I don't like using anti-biotics too much.
