i am currently having a police check done to enable me to work with children,10 years ago an incident happened and i was prosecuted by the r.s.p.c.a,could this go against me and is it a police record.

if you are having an enhanced CRB check then it will show up any caution/conviction that you have ever had so it will show up.
Can't say whether it would go against you or not, that would have to be decided by your employer employing you to work in that environment.
